Do I need an appointment to get a tattoo?
Our shop accepts both appointments and walk-ins when available. To set an appointment, you must come in and see us in person. We require a CASH deposit which will go into the price of the tattoo. If you are getting a piece which requires multiple sessions the deposit will be held until the last session. If you fail to show up for your appointment the deposit will be forfeited, however if you contact us in advance the appointment can be rescheduled. In some cases a consultation will be necessary before setting up an appointment for example very large pieces or anything that will require a good deal of drawing (full arm/leg, entire back etc.). A consultation can be done on the spot when available or you can call the shop to schedule one.
How much will my tattoo cost?
The cost of any tattoo will be set only once the tattoo is drawn out. The cost will depend on the size of the tattoo, the location on your body, and the amount of detail. If you are trying to stick to a budget we will gladly try to work within that. If you are getting a larger piece or a multiple session tattoo you will be charged an hourly rate of $150. We have a $60 minimum on all tattoos except ones going on your hands, face, feet or neck, in which case we have a $100 minimum. We cannot price anything over the phone or internet, so please come in and talk to us in person.
What is the healing process like?
In general, tattoos take about two weeks to heal. During this period you do not want to soak the tattoo (no swimming, bathing, hot tubs, etc.) of course getting the tattoo wet in the shower is fine. Wash the tattoo twice daily with warm water and a gentle soap. (Make sure your hands are clean before touching your tattoo.) Dry with a paper towel and apply a thin layer of ointment (A & D, Bacitracin, or Aquaphor.) After about 4 or 5 days it is also okay to use a plain white unscented hand lotion ( Curel, Lubriderm, Aveeno etc.) Rub the ointment in, do not leave the tattoo shiny or wet looking. During the healing period,do not pick or scratch at the tattoo, do not expose it to direct sunlight for extended periods. Keep it clean and leave it alone.

How do I choose a tattoo design?
The best way to start, is by doing some independent research to get an idea of the style (Classic American, Japanese, Illustrative,Tribal, black&gray, among others) and type of imagery that you prefer. Read Street Tattoo has a wide variety of reference as well, so stop in and take a look. Once youre here you can discuss your ideas with an artist. We do everything from a simple design off a Flash(wall) sheet to fully custom pieces, so there are a vast amount of possibilities.
What should I do if I have an existing tattoo that I am unhappy with?
Come in and talk to us in person, and we will be able to provide you with options, according to the size and appearance of the existing tattoo. In most cases a cover up is the best option. Designs that work well for cover ups include, but are not limited to flowers, snakes, dragons, Asian motifs, usually anything with a lot of black or a larger/ bolder design, than the pre-existing work. Other options include re-doing the original tattoo to make it more clear and bold, and in worst case scenarios, referral to a reputable laser removal specialist. Again, the best way to figure out what will work for you ,is to come in and talk to a tattooer in person.
How much do you charge for the drawing?
There is no drawing fee, this is included in the price of the tattoo, however we will not do a drawing for a tattoo until the CASH deposit is received, and the appointment is set.
